Nestled amongst swaying coconut palms and tropical gardens, Baan Thamarchat is a unique collection of handcrafted villas inspired by traditional Thai architecture and built in harmony with nature. Constructed using natural cedar wood and sustainable materials, the village offers an authentic tropical sanctuary where guests can slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with themselves.

Located just a 3-minute walk from the beautiful Hin Kong Lagoon, renowned for its calm turquoise waters, stunning natural scenery and relaxed atmosphere, the retreat venue provides the perfect base from which to explore one of Thailand's most magical islands. Whale Shark Season – The Perfect Time to Visit

Another reason we've chosen May 2027 for our Thailand Retreat is that the period from March through May is regarded as one of the best times of year to encounter Whale Sharks in the Gulf of Thailand. During these months, seasonal plankton blooms are often at their highest levels, attracting an abundance of marine life and creating ideal feeding conditions for these gentle giants.

The famous waters around Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and Sail Rock are among Thailand's most celebrated marine environments, and while sightings can never be guaranteed, travelling during this period can significantly increase the chances of experiencing one of nature's most extraordinary wildlife encounters.

Swimming alongside a Whale Shark is a true bucket-list experience. Colin has had the honour of sharing the water with these magnificent creatures during previous visits to Thailand and describes the experience as both humbling and deeply moving.

 Once we have initial numbers we will plan & cost this and you can decide if you want to come. To give you a rough ball park, in previous years in India and Bali it has worked out at somewhere between £700 - £1050 (Twin/Single).  This usually covers B&B accommodation & Internal Flights.
